Grade Separations

The goal of the Grade Separations program is to reduce the number of grade crossings on the Caltrain right of way. Grade separations improve safety for drivers and pedestrians, relieve traffic congestion and enhance the operational flexibility of the railroad. The grade crossings to be considered for Measure A funding are listed in the 2004 Expenditure Plan (PDF, 237KB) and are located in South San Francisco, San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, San Mateo, Redwood City, Atherton, East Palo Alto and Menlo Park.
